Periods of study and research abroad are highly encouraged.

Students, with the assistance of their supervisor and the Scientific Board, should actively seek and obtain an official invitation as "Visiting PhD students" issued by a hosting international research institution or University. 

Periods abroad, when students' scholarship is increased by 50%, should last a minimum of 3 months and no more than 9 months. Students must receive formal approval by the Scientific Board before beginning their study period abroad.
